Industry Leader of the Local Food Market of Arizona


Cindy Gentry has more than twenty-five years experience with non-profit hunger prevention organizations and healthy food systems development, working statewide to nurture local food production, distribution and access capacities, and to support local farmers’ markets. She has helped establish the Farmers Market Nutrition Program and SNAP at the Markets in our state, to make it possible for low-income people to stretch their food dollars at farmers markets as well as increase revenue for local producers. She is currently the manager of the open-air Tempe Community Market, the ASU Farmers Market and continues to work expand a Farm to Cafeteria program in Arizona, as well as help re-establish a food policy coalition in our area.
